As good stewards of our money, we may be tempted to often go after the cheaper alternative. But paying attention to the current price while neglecting to examine all the other variables that make for a quality product, may be a mistake.
In this episode of The Gentlemen's Brotherhood, I am joined by three other gents who have some insightful experiences about buying cheap or buying quality.

Contrary to popular belief, real men ask for help. We often hear the expression "Man Up" or "Take it Like a Man" and these are expressions that suppress the much needed human expression of emotions for half the population.
In this episode of the Gentlemen's Brotherhood, we explore the perils and opportunities of Real men asking for help. Men's mental health has been in decline and there are many things we can do to restore it.

Yes it is annoying when someone for whom you've opened a door doesn't even acknowledge your presence. But did you know that not being grateful may be even worst for that person.
On this episode of The Gentlemen's Brotherhood, we talk about the negative impact, psychological and physical, that not showing gratitude may have on our life. We hope you're grateful to have found this episode... for your health's sake.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. That was perhaps your first interaction with Stoicism. This ancient philosophy is making a strong comeback in the 21st century. And for good reason. Sometimes we try to figure things out on our own or reinvent the wheel. But there are things that work and don’t require reinvention. We just have to learn them, implement them, and live by them.
Become a better man today by learning the ancient mind control philosophy of Stoicism. In this episode, we learn why we should be less preoccupied by what happens in other people's mind and more in understanding what is happening in ours. Why we shouldn't become so distressed with things not being how we wish they were, and instead accept the world as it is.

So many times we are at the mercy of our own thoughts. You may be engaged in an important activity, meanwhile your brain is in a tug of war trying to rip your attention from the task at hand. Do we have control over the thoughts that bubble up in our mind? Absolutely not. What we have control over is what we do with those thoughts. The steps that follow the appearance of these thoughts.
Do you want to be at the mercy of your thoughts, or Do you want to be the Master and Commander of your own head? I think I know your answer. Stay with me because today I will bring you a few solutions that will put you back in control of those unavoidable thought bubbles.

Imagine that you wake up to see your spouse sitting in bed, staring at you, with an angry look on her face. She then proceeds to grill you for something you did to her… In… a… dream! How would you feel about that? Would that be fair to you, that an event that took place only in her imagination, now becomes a real world source of conflict and resentment?
Of course it wouldn’t be fair, but you may be engaging in an equally unfair behavior that is happening only in your head and it is damaging your personal relationships.
Don’t worry, I’ll explain it and help you avoid it, in this episode of TGB

If you have enjoyed the privilege of commercial flight, you have certainly heard the flight attendants delivering their safety spiel. This mandatory precautionary step is one that helps the passengers of the airplane understand certain safety procedures that would maximize their probability of surviving an in-flight emergency. One of the instructions given goes something like this: “In the extremely unlikely event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, oxygen masks will deploy from the overhead compartment”. I hope this never happens to you, but could you imagine being thousands of feet up in the sky, flying with your children, and all of a sudden, Bam! Oxygen masks deploy from the ceiling. What would you do?
In this episode, we will explore why acting in a seemingly selfish manner in this case, may not be as selfish as you may think.

I can’t remember a single moment in my life where I ever intended to type the word “Ducking”. I can’t be the only one to suffer under the censorship oppression of auto-correct any time I try to text the word “F’king”.
Is it ok for a gentleman to use curse words? Under what circumstances is it ok for someone to use profanities? Are there any words that we should avoid at all costs?
Let’s find these answers together on this episode of The Gentlemen’s Brotherhood.

It's not easy to temper your anger. To keep your anger and your emotions under control when being tested.
How could we miss it? One of the most influential celebrities in the world walked onstage and interrupted the prestigious Academy Awards ceremony to express his indignation for a joke made at his wife's expense.
In its almost 100 years history, the Academy Awards had never witnessed words turned into violence. Will Smith stepped onstage and slapped the host of the awards, Chris Rock, to make sure he never again disrespected his wife. This assault was broadcasted Live around the world and has divided the public opinion as to whether Will Smith did the right thing or simply lacked the Power of Will to temper his anger.

Conversation with the kids.
Questions to ask Dad every year near Fathers Day.
What questions can you ask your children to make sure you are meeting their needs.
Your yearly assessment on how you are doing as a dad.
The yearly review of your most important job.
Get your FREE Dad Assessment Questionnaire here: https://bit.ly/DadAssessment
We've created a tool to help you better assess your performance as a father. Being a father is the most important job you have and unless you are able to measure your performance, you can't claim to be doing a good job or improving over time.
“Measurement is the first step that leads to control and eventually to improvement. If you can’t measure something, you can’t understand it. If you can’t understand it, you can’t control it. If you can’t control it, you can’t improve it.”

Imagine permanently losing your vision in an instant and having to rely on the compassion of the health care workers who have your recovery in charge. Wouldn't you want those health care workers to be empathetic to your pain?
In this episode of The Gentlemen's Brotherhood, we hear the inspiring story of Marcus Engel, a man who instead of becoming bitter against the lack of compassion he found in the doctors that were caring for him, he embarked on a mission to spread empathy and compassion through the health care system.

How does one become a better dad today?
As parents, raising our children properly is one of the most important and consequential things we will ever do. And yet, I have seen first hand how some parents make some serious mistakes that have lasting consequences in the mental and emotional health of their children.
Some parents just emulate what their parents did before them, even when there is clear evidence of the detrimental effects of continuing those practices.
When it comes to preparing the next generation, simply going through the motions and just “winging it” may not be the best approach.
We are all in the same boat, there are things we do that we know we can do better and often we know exactly what to do. But why is it so darn difficult to stick to a good habit and why are bad habits so insidious?
On this episode of TGB, we will discuss the biology of habit formation and how we can use that knowledge to establish better habits in our life and remove those that don’t serve us well.
